Losing control, and thereafter.

Description

We all have our triggers, we all have our curriculum

this includes fated experiences, which can steer our life path,

either way, depending on our response.

Life is seldom about what happens to us,

it is about how we respond to what happens to us.

Just like how others behave with us,

is their karma, how we respond, is ours.

An empowered response paves way for an empowered life.

That is how we get the control back, one choice at a time.

Moment after we lose the ground beneath our feet,

and moments before we lose it,

we get an opportunity to take a deep breath

and let tumultuous emotions to pass through.

An emotional crossroad offers us an opportunity

to access our strengths, and gauge our weakness.

Areas of life, we still have work to do.

When times are good, thing are moving in our favour

we can be all together, strong and faithful, and even beatific.

It is when the tide turns over,

and the hard times moved in,

that we get to see our true strength.

When we have to face harsh judgments,

injustices and indeed listen to harsh words,

or when are confronted with hard choices

that is when we get access our strength.

through resilience, patience and humility,

and sometimes through forgiveness.

So that we can make a higher choice,

a more empowered one and heart-aligned.

Our truth is then revealed, not just to us,

but to those around us.

The more out of control we are, internally,

greater we feel the need to control our environment.

Most often it arises when we couldn’t control

our circumstance, felt helpless or powerless.

Somehow we carry this sense of having no control,

and begin to seek external control

as if it would help us control our emotions better.

Before we try to regain that power, through unhealthy ways.

So often those who appear weak to us, surprise us.

When supposed strong ones, falter at the first knock of fate.

Luckily, turning around is easier than we think.

It takes time, but is possible.

It all begins with self-observance,

much like watching our breath.

which leads watching our emotions

and in turn our life.

Each time, we face a painful situation

if we manage to look beyond the emotional and mental fog,

there is healing pathway, waiting to be walked on.

I love this! It really captures the emotion.

I'm making myself a step-by-step guide to dealing with triggers and stuff like that, and i'm considering using this as a background for some of the graphics (with words on top).
I've already made the one before posting this. The document will only be seen by me and my therapist, but just let me know if it's unacceptable for me to use the image in that context and I will remove it.
